Technical Description of Power Supply Product Applications
  • All buck-boost and step-up/step-down products come standard with output overcurrent protection, output short-circuit protection, input undervoltage protection, and chip overheating protection; (large power supply products have over-temperature protection on the circuit board or casing, generally with a protection temperature of around 90°C).
  • Due to circuit structure issues, step-up series products do not have output short-circuit protection and the function of shutting down without output under undervoltage. When using, please add appropriate fuses at the input end to prevent large currents from damaging the input power source during short circuits.
  • The gold-colored small aluminum casing is a high-temperature resistant, highly reliable product suitable for outdoor and high-demand applications.
  • All products with hard gel encapsulation cannot be repaired (except for the extra-large aluminum shell 500W product) and can only be treated with return and exchange, so it is necessary to consult the customer's usage situation before making a sale.
  • To prevent short circuits from burning out equipment, add fuses; to prevent current backflow and anti-reverse connection, add diodes; to prevent overvoltage direct pass, add overvoltage protection circuits.
  • For inductive loads (coils, magnetic valves, speakers, etc.) and motor applications, please recommend that customers use a power supply that is 3-5 times the rated power of the load.
  • When the load is a single light bulb, it is generally supplied by a constant current power supply. For charging applications, please choose products with charging functions, for motor loads, please choose motor-specific power supplies, and for parallel applications, please choose products with parallel current-sharing functions.
  • The worst consequence of a non-isolated buck power supply is that the high input voltage is directly passed to the output end, which may burn out the load on the output end. Therefore, when carrying precious load products, it is not recommended to use non-isolated buck power supplies, and isolated products are recommended.
  • The worst consequence of a non-isolated boost power supply is that a short circuit at the input end generates a large current that can burn the wiring. For high-power products, adding an appropriate fuse at the input end can prevent this. Generally, it is not recommended for customers to choose isolated boost converters.
  • The worst consequence of a non-isolated buck-boost power supply is the aforementioned consequences of bucking or boosting. When carrying precious loads, it is strongly recommended that customers choose isolated buck-boost series products.
  • The negative pole (ground) of isolated products cannot be shared; the negative poles of input and output must be used separately, otherwise, the isolation effect is lost.
  • For applications with high input voltage or input voltage that is three times or more than the output voltage, it is strongly recommended that customers use isolated products to improve product reliability and safety.
  • The input voltage range of isolated power supplies is not as large as that of non-isolated power supplies. There are limitations and requirements for the input voltage range, and the adjustable range of the output voltage value is also smaller.
  • Isolated power supplies can support negative voltage input, and the output can be positive or negative voltage. When inputting a negative voltage, please note that the 0V line is connected to the red wire, and the negative voltage line is connected to the black wire.
  • The prototype production of isolated power supplies is very troublesome, not like non-isolated power supplies that can be modified by adjusting the voltage regulator. It is necessary to remake the transformer and adjust various parameters of the circuit. Please pay attention to the extension of the delivery period when placing an order.
  • In the application of isolated power supplies, there is no direct passage of high input voltage to the output end to burn out the equipment, so it is the safest power supply product.
